Grillin’ on the Bay Update

Just got home from Grillin’ on the Bay and the Brooklyn Chili Smackdown.   We could smell the BBQ from the train station and followed our noses to the event.  Watching the BBQ masters at work made us very very hungry so we wandered into the school for some chili action.  Inside, we took “all the chili you can eat” literally and sampled each of 13 chili competitors before voting for #8.

Unfortunately, we had to ship out before the winners were announced but we’ll be watchin’ their website for the announcements.

Now, it’s time for a nap…

For two days over the first weekend in February, half the windows in my apartment were open to air out the smoke and fumes from this weekend’s project. This is not uncommon around here when the weatherman tells us to expect winter rain and slush all day. When going outside sounds like it’ll be more trouble than it’s worth, we’ll usually turn to our pantry and work on an all-day project. This weekend’s required a little extra ventilation.
